Wyoming Geologic Association

WGA manages several scholarships for those who are seeking new opportunities. Scholarship information and application forms are listed below.

STEVE CHAMPLIN SCHOLARSHIP

The Steve Champlin Scholarship, established in 1985, helps support financially-needy geology seniors and first-year graduate students at universities throughout the Rocky Mountain region. The first award was presented in 1991.

J. DAVID LOVE FIELD GEOLOGY FELLOWSHIP

This Fellowship is awarded to a graduate student conducting geological field research in the Rocky Mountain region The first award was given in 1988.

GENE GEORGE PETROLEUM GEOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

For junior, senior or graduate geoscience majors enrolled at a college or university in the Rocky Mountain region. The scholarship was established in 2011 and the first award given in 2014.

WOLD YOUTH FELLOWSHIP

Casper College Memorial Scholarship
For a geology or earth-science student at Casper College. First awarded in 1973. Contact Casper College directly to apply.

SH Knight Scholarship
For a junior, senior or graduate student enrolled at the University of Wyoming Department of Geology & Geophysics. First awarded in 1980. Contact the University of Wyoming directly to apply.
